Email notifications and weekly updates
Postard separates essential account emails, operational alerts, and optional weekly updates. Resend provides delivery after the operator verifies the sending domain and configures credentials.
Account creation and sign-in
Supabase Auth uses Resend SMTP for confirmation, recovery, and other enabled authentication templates. After a verified first session, the app queues a welcome message. Later sign-in sessions can queue an alert; repeated observations of one session are deduplicated. An email-service interruption does not turn a successful web sign-in into a failed login.
Delivery and connection alerts
A failed or uncertain profile delivery can queue an operational email. A profile marked as needing reconnection can notify current owners/admins. The sender rechecks current recipient verification, preferences, workspace access, and suppression before sending. Open the saved post to inspect its actual outcome; an email is not proof that a social platform accepted a post.
Optional weekly updates
Weekly updates are off until you opt in. The worker schedules a summary on Monday at 09:00 UTC for the previous Monday-to-Monday UTC period. A missed run can catch up through Tuesday. Counts cover text drafts, successful profile deliveries, and posts needing attention in workspaces you can still access. They are workflow counts, not reach or engagement estimates.
Preferences and unsubscribe
Use email preferences after signing in to control weekly updates, operational notifications, and sign-in alerts. Optional emails include a category-specific unsubscribe link and a one-click unsubscribe header. Opening the human confirmation page does not change a preference; confirming it does. Essential Auth emails are separate.
Sending and delivery are different
The outbox records provider acceptance separately from delivered, failed, bounced, or complained events. Signed Resend webhooks update delivery status and suppress bounced/complained recipients. Retries use the same saved request and idempotency key inside a bounded window; an old uncertain send requires review.
Operator setup
Email setup requires verified sending domains, Supabase custom SMTP, the API and worker unsubscribe key, Resend credentials, and the webhook signing secret. Live sending and delivery still need verification.
